Where is Sky TV satellite?

The satellite that Sky TV uses to broadcast most of its programs is called Astra.  It orbits mostly over Europe. This is why you can get Sky TV shows when you go on holiday to Europe but not if you go to the US or further away.  The system also uses one of the Eutelsat satellites as well.
