Phone Banking

For existing customers, you can use the Ulster Bank telephone banking service to check your account at any time.  This number is 0345 742 4365 or +44 289 053 8033 if you are outside the UK. These lines are open for 24 hours a day.

To enrol in the service the first time, call 0345 366 7001 or +44 238 124 4179 from outside the UK.  This line is open from 8 am until 6 pm weekdays.

You can also set up text alerts to be notified about the status of your bank by visiting this page or by ringing 03457 366 6558.  Minicom users can use the freephone number 0800 015 4422.  You can also set it up in any local branch.

Anytime banking

As well as the 24 hour banking phone line, you can also use the online banking which is available any time.  You register for this when you first set up your account then you can access it at any time. It will tell you about your account balance, change things like Direct Debits or check payments.  You can also access live chat through it to talk to someone over the internet.

Moving house

If you are moving to a new house, then you can contact the bank on 0800 046 6486 if you want to talk about mortgages.  Otherwise, use the above customer services number to notify the change of details. They are open from 8:30 am until 7:30 pm weekdays apart from Tuesdays and Thursdays where they are open until 9 pm.  Saturday opening hours are 9 am until 2 pm.

Lost or stolen cards

If you have lost or had your card stolen, then ring Ulster Bank as soon as possible on 0370 600 0459 for debit cards – this is a 24 hour service.  For credit cards, ring 0370 333 1600 or for calls from outside the UK use +44 131 549 8186 for debit cards or +44 126 850 0813 for credit cards.

If your card has just stopped working, you can ring +44 131 339 7609 for debit cards or for credit cards call +44 126 850 0813.

If you need emergency cash due to a lost or stolen card, then call 0370 600 0459 to get a code to use a cashpoint machine without a card.

Insurance services

Ulster Bank offer a range of insurance services from home to travel.  The main insurance contact number is 0800 051 1399 which is open from 8 am until 9 pm weekdays, 9 am until 5 pm on Saturdays and 10 am until 5 pm on Sundays.  

Home insurance

For quotes for home insurance call 0800 051 0502.  You can also use 0345 877 6705 to make claims on your policy, make changes to your existing cover or to add an extra cover.

Life insurance

For life cover for over 50s or life protector policies, ring 0800 085 1714 between 9 am to 5 pm weekdays.  You can also ring directly to AIG Life Limited who handle the policies for Ulster Bank on 0345 300 6086.

Financial health check

All customers are entitled to a free financial health check service and you can access this by calling 0800 158 8786 or 0800 015 4422 for minicom users.  Lines are open from 8 am until 10 pm every day. Ulster Bank mortgages

Ulster Bank offers mortgages for new and existing customers and have a range of customer service options to help you.

For an existing mortgage, call 0345 300 6086 between 8:30 am – 6 pm weekdays, 9 am until 12:30 pm Saturdays.  If you have arrears on your mortgage, you can ring 0345 301 6910 to get help and advice. For non-mortgage debt, you can ring 0345 602 3112 or +44 289 053 8702 from outside the UK.

Closing an account

If you have a savings account with Ulster Bank and you want to cancel or close it, you need to get in touch.  You can do this on the website by visiting this page and following the instructions or you can send it in writing to Ulster Bank Online Savings Account Closure, Retail and Corporate Operations, Banking Operations, UB Services, Ulster Bank Ireland Limited, Danesfort, Stranmillis Road, Belfast BT9 5UB.
