If you are trying to get in touch with ThinkMoney, there are a couple of different options.  Their recommended contact option is via email, so you can send your query to [email protected].  They also operate a customer services line on 0161 779 5000 which can be called to get information and help.  If you are outside the UK, use +44 161 7795000. The lines are open from 8 am until 8 pm Mon-Thurs, 8 am until 6:30 pm Friday and from 8 am until 4:40 pm Saturdays – opening hours for Saturdays are for existing customers only.

Current accounts

If you are looking to open an account with ThinkMoney, then the number to ring is 0161 672 8910.  You can also go to the website and complete the form here to request a new account.

Once you have a current account you can check the balance and other information online by signing into the website with the information you set up when opening the account.  You can also ring the customer services team or use their smartphone app to check your balance whenever you want.

There are various ways to pay money into and withdraw money from your account:

  • Cash – deposit at the nearest Post Office branch
  • Cheque – deposit at the nearest Post Office branch
  • Electronic transfers – made via your account or the app
  • BACS payments – send money from one account to another

Lost or stolen cards

If you think your card has been stolen or is lost, then contact ThinkMoney as quickly as possible on their main contact number 0161 779 5000 or +44 161 779 5000 from outside the UK.  Lines are open 24 hours a day. There is also a section on the website where you can report it.

To activate a new card, you can either ring the main contact number or send a text message to 81122 with the word CARD followed by the last four digits of the card number and this will complete the task.

Direct debits

If you want to see or change a direct debit, you can log into your online account and see the information there.  If you want to change one, you can text CHANGE followed by ‘add’ and the details of the direct debit to ThinkMoney on 8112.

To cancel a direct debit, again you can do it online or via text.  Send CHANGE followed by ‘cancel’ and the details of the direct debit to 8112.  You can also ring 0161 779 5000 and they will stop it for you.

Credit cards

ThinkMoney’s credit cards are handled by Capital One.  If you want to call about them, you can ring 0344 481 2812 or +44 115 993 8002 from outside the UK.  You can ring to see if you are eligible for a card and once your details have been confirmed, a Quick Check will be done to see if you can have the card.  If you already have one and the card is lost or stolen, then call 0800 952 5267.

Credit facility and loans

ThinkMoney have a credit facility for customers who have had a managed account for three months or more with them.  If you want to see if you are eligible, you can call 0161 672 8977 and call the main contact number 0161 779 5000 to go ahead.

Flexi Loans is ThinkMoney’s loan product and lets you borrow £300-1500 for between 6-12 months.  You can ring 0161 672 8988 to check eligibility and make an application for a loan. You must have a managed current account with them to qualify.  You can also apply for a loan here.


ThinkMoney offers car insurance via their website where you can fill in your card information, driver history and other details to get a quote.  You can then follow up with them by calling 0161 672 8991 if you want to go ahead. Lines are open from 9 am until 8 pm Mon-Thurs and from 9 am until 4 pm Fridays.

Fraud department

If you think you have found a case of fraud on any card or account connected with ThinkMoney, then you can contact them online under the Services section of the online banking website.  It will tell you what to do. You can ring the contact number 0161 779 5000 or to get a card blocked, text BLOCKED to 8112.

ID requirements

When opening an account there are ID requirements that ThinkMoney have to adhere to.  You will need to provide certain proof of ID to open an account which can include household bills, benefits letter or an HMRC letter which you can get by calling 0300 200 3300.  If you cannot upload your ID are requested, call 0161 672 8910 to discuss the matter with the bank.
