Moving to a new home & your energy
Moving to a new home is very exciting but can be very stressful, so many things can go wrong like losing boxes and breaking glass and not to mention how exhausting the whole process is.
You may find that your to-do list is growing longer every day and you have boxes everywhere that it would be easily for you to forget something, but don’t let that thing be your energy.
One of the top things on your to-do list to do is you should do let your energy supplier know you’re moving to a new home.
If you’re already a Britsh Gas moving home customer then things couldn’t be easier for you.
What you need to do
The first thing you need to do is let British Gas know and to find out if British Gas already supplies the new property with energy.
If the new property your moving into already has Britsh Gas supplying the energy then we can move you over imminently, all we will need to know is your HomeCare and customer number, your current home address and new property address and a contact number and you will need to supply us with the old and new meter readings so we can send you an accurate bill.
If the new property’s energy supply isn’t with British Gas then the set up can take a week or two but the energy in the new property won’t be affected so don’t worry, you will still have electricity and gas.
Now that you have successfully moved into your new home and the boxes are slowly getting unpacked, you have probably now looked around your new property to see how you want to improve things or deciding on what color paint to choose for the living room, but have you thought of how you could improve the efficiency of your energy?
