Manchester City Council is there for residents in a variety of ways offering in person services, telephone lines and a comprehensive website to help sort your problem.
If you have an environmental problem, you can contact the council to report it and get help. This might that someone has dumped rubbish near your home or you have spotted an incident of fly tipping where large furniture has been left. You can also report a problem with litter and other debris. The council are also responsible for the collection of the bins from homes and businesses and you can find out the collection schedule, report a missed collection or find out where local recycling centred is located.
For people with school age children, the website is a source of information about school terms dates and other information. You can apply for a school place or look to change your child’s school through the website or by ringing them. You can also report problems if you encounter them with a council run school.
Parking around city centres is always a hot topic and the council has a parking department to handle it. Here you can find out about a parking ticket you have received and even appeal against it. You can also get information about parking costs and even about parking at your home.

The main council offices are found in the Town Hall, Albert Square with the contact number 0161 234 4343. There is also the Customer Service Centre where you can visit to get help and assistance with various issues which are on Mount Street in the city. It is open from 9-5 weekdays.
