DVLA Car Tax Refund Number

When you sell a car, one of the jobs that you must remember to do is to let the DVLA know that you are no longer responsible for the vehicle. That way you don’t have to make any further payments for the road tax. But sometimes this can take a while to process and this means you are due a refund on your tax disc. Normally you would need to ring the congested main DVLA contact number to do this but now you can use this number instead. The new DVLA vehicle tax contact number allows you to easily get in touch with the DVLA to arrange a cancellation of the road tax for your old vehicle and to sort out any refund that you might be due. When you sell or transfer a vehicle, you can cancel the tax or if it is written off by an insurance company, scrapped or stolen. You can also use the Statutory Off Road Notification or SORN to keep the vehicle but not use it on the road.

DVLA Tax Disc Refund Number

This number is different to the DVLA V5 contact number and cuts through the normal queues that slow down the process of contacting Swansea. It allows you to easily speak to someone to process your tax cancellation and find out if you are due any kind of refund. The usual process is that if you have paid for the tax in full, you will get a refund cheque for the period of time remaining. If you paid by Direct Debit, the payment will be stopped and any overpayment will be returned to the same account that payments were taken from. The only things that aren’t refunded are any credit card fees and the charges added for monthly payments, normally 5% on some direct debit payments and 10% on a single six months’ payment.
