drivers license

DVLA where to send D1 form?

If you are applying for your first driving license, then the form you need to complete is the D1 form.  You can complete it online and you will need ID, addresses of anywhere you have lived for the last 3 years and your national insurance number.  Normally, the license takes a week to arrive when done this route.

Alternatively, you can send D1 via the post.  You can use DVLA form ordering services or pick it up at some branches of the Post Office.  It costs more to apply by post, and you need to send a cheque with the form, not cash. You will also need an identity document and colour passport style photos.  If you have lived in the UK all of your life, then send the form to DVLA, Swansea, SA99 1AD and if any of your documents are from outside the UK, send it to DVLA, Swansea, SA99 1AF.  The license will arrive in around three weeks.
