Contact the council

The first place to contact the council is through the main switchboard for the Bath office which is 01225 477000.  There are also specific numbers for different departments depending on the services that you need:

  • Waste, roads, libraries and planning – 01225 394041

The out of hours service is for things like trees blocking roads, broken glass on a highway, syringes in public places and imminent flooding of a property.  You can also use to report road traffic collisions and unsafe buildings in addition to ringing the main 999 emergency services line. Calls to these numbers are charged at normal local rates.

There are also four locations where you can speak to council staff and get help with your various queries and issues.  The Bath One Stop Shop is located at 3-4 Manvers Street in Bath and is Monday to Saturday. There is also the main Guildhall which includes services like the Register Office and is open weekdays only.

Outside of Bath, there are two other council offices.  Keynsham One Stop Shop is in the Civic Centre on Market Walk and is open 8:30-5 weekdays and from 9:30-4:30 Saturdays.  There is also The Hollies in Midsomer Norton which is open weekdays. Both offer self-serve kiosks, computers and telephones for residents to use.
